Global Water Technologies addresses new Indiana Water Institute concept at IWA conference
CINCINNATI, April 22, 2015 -- Global Water Technologies (OTC Pink: GWTR) addressed a new Indiana Water Institute concept during sessions at the International Water Association (IWA) conference on Water Efficiency and Performance Assessment of Water Services.
"Economic opportunities around innovation in water efficiency are real," said Erik Hromadka, CEO of Global Water Technologies. "We are fortunate that our company is located in a state that overlaps two of the leading water technology clusters and has a dynamic tech sector of emerging companies. It is good to see growing recognition of sustainable water solutions in Indiana and across the Great Lakes region."
Hromadka noted that state legislation was recently considered to create a new Indiana Water Institute in 2015 and accomplish three main objectives:
creation of a comprehensive, long-term water resources plan,
faster implementation and funding of water technology commercialization efforts, and
improved workforce development and training for water industry professionals and technical operators.
Although the bill did not pass in the currrent Indiana legislative session and was overshadowed by more controversial issues, Hromadka believes progress on these topics will continue with growing interest from the state's business community. "We continue to work on deploying innovative technologies and look forward to water efficiency solutions being demonstrated in our state and region," he said.
The IWA conference is being held in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 20-24. Hromadka is participating in a workshop on water efficient technologies on April 22 and making a presentation on Indiana's recent efforts on April 24. His paper is available at:
