Global Water Technologies featured in XPRIZE Water Scarcity book released at Madrid water summit
INDIANAPOLIS and MADRID, May 17, 2026 -- Global Water Technologies (OTC: GWTR) is included in an overview of XPRIZE Water Scarcity teams being released at Global Water Summit 2026 — Water Meets Money in Madrid, Spain.
An overview of the competition to date is available in the XPRIZE Water Scarcity teams book being distributed at the Global Water Summit 2026 which is expected to draw more than 1,000 water professionals and investors from May 18-20.
The Global Water Technologies team has been invited to participate in a period of extended testing this summer that is available for teams not selected as one of the Top 20 semi-finalists in the five-year competition. The company is reviewing that opportunity to determine if it will participate or if supporting another advancing team is a better option.
As previously disclosed, Global Water Technologies participated in the XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition after registering and being selected as a qualifying team in the Track A systems category and completing the initial round of qualifications testing in 2025. The company utilized capacitive deionization and other innovative water technologies in its prototype system and has been in active discussions for a potential capital raise and M&A activities related to its efforts in the competition.
