Global Water Technologies discusses infrastructure at Water Summit 2012
Challenges and opportunities for smart water networks draw industry leaders

INDIANAPOLIS, October 8, 2012 -- Global Water Technologies (OTC Pink: GWTR) will participate in Water Summit 2012 this week in Milwaukee, an event that draws national and international leaders on innovative approaches to sustainable water solutions.

Global Water Technologies announced this summer that it is introducing a new system from Europe that uses multi-parameter sensors and software to reduce water loss in drinking water systems, where aging underground pipes in the U.S. typically lose more than 20 percent of treated water before it reaches customers. In addition, leaking pipes often result in water main breaks that compound water loss with extensive damage.

“There is a growing awareness that sustainable cities must improve efficiency in their vital water infrastructure,” said Erik Hromadka, CEO of Global Water Technologies. “This is a large problem that requires new ideas and collaboration among water utilities, government agencies, research universities and innovative companies.”

The summit explores issues in “Building the Water-Centric City” from financial and political perspectives, highlighting Milwaukee's role as a United Nations Global Compact City for water technology.

Global Water Technologies is seeking municipal and financial partners for a pilot project in the U.S. to demonstrate how the new technology can provide early leak detection and reduce water main breaks.
